Monaco got to a 2-0 start after beating Hapoel Holon on the road 56 – 85. The difference offensively between the two teams was obvious from the opening quarter (29-18).
The hosts improved defensively in the second quarter as Monaco scored only 13 points, but they scored just 8 points in the period. After that Hapoel Holon didn’t have the tools to be competitive. Tashawn Thomas led his team again in points with 13 and also grabbed 9 rebounds.
The key: Monaco’s only quarter under 20 points – the second – couldn’t be used by Hapoel to reduce the deficit. They will have to improve if they want to get their first win soon.
The star: The entire squad did a great effort but Kikanovic, who finished with 16 points and 8 boards led the winners (+31 with him on the court).
