Besiktas enjoyed a road victory against Oostende with the final score being 77-49. The two teams are tied in the group standings with one victory and one loss each so far in the Basketball Champions League.
Besiktas’ defense kept Oostende to low percentages from the field and they let the Belgian champs score just 27 points at the half (27 – 41). The same intensity was kept in the second half and no one from the Belgium side was able to score in double digits.
The key: Oostende failed to score for more than 7 minutes between the end of the first and the start of the second quarter. Besiktas enjoyed a 15 – 0 run during that time that practically decided the game.
The star: Sharp shooter, Jon Diebler scored 14 points, including four three-pointers while Augusto Lima contributed with 11 and 6 boards.
