After a slow start (6-2, 6′) both teams improved with their second unit on the court. Alex Urtasun’s 14 first-half points paced Murcia before the break but the Russian squad had the 39 – 34 lead.
The Spaniards reacted in the second half and finished the third quarter with a 55-50 lead despite Octavius Ellis’ dominance in both rims. He finished with a double-double (11 points and 11 boards). This lead proved to be enough until the end.
