Gaziantep beat PAOK 85 – 82 in Thessaloniki to improve its Basketball Champions League record to 2-0 after a tough game that was decided in the last minute.
Thanks to a strong start by Victor Rudd and D.J. White (who combined for 28 first-half points) Gaziantep got their first lead of the game (38 – 42 at the half).
The Turks faced a different team in the second half. PAOK improved both defensively and offensively and reached their biggest lead of the game (59 – 51, 28′) led by Kevin Dillard and Brandon Triche (15 and 22 points). A late reaction was more than enough for the guests that managed to escape with a win.
The key: A couple of big plays in the last minutes by Sean Armand (20 points 5 assists) made the difference.
The star: White put Gaziantep on his back and dropped 19 points. He also grabbed 7 rebounds.
