Estudiantes remained undefeated, as the Spaniards beat Rosa Radom at home with 78 – 68.
Affected by the absence of Sylven Landesberg, Estudiantes got a bit of a scare. Three almost consecutive three-pointers for the hosts broke open the game in the second quarter (40 – 25, 17′).
Their great scoring performance seemed to be enough, but the Polish side still had a lot to say. With one quarter remaining Rosa Radom turned the tables and got the lead (57 – 58) with Mateusz Szczypinski making the difference and finishing the game with 17 points and 9 boards. Kevin Punter also contributed with 20 points but shooting 6/20 from the field.
Despite Estudiantes’ bad performance, Omar Cook controlled the tempo at the end, the hosts reacted and his team got their second win.
The key: Estudiantes shot too many three-pointers (9/30). That’s the main reason why the game was that close.
The star: Darío Brizuela scored 17 points for the winners, including 4/5 beyond the arc.
