Enisey Krasnoyarsk beat Juventus Utena at home 85 – 81 after an incredible comeback win. The Russian team improved to a 2-2 record while the Lithuanians finish Week 4 with their third lost game.
After a strong beginning by the hosts, Juventus responded in the second quarter with a 25 – 9 run. Despite Enisey’s great start, at the end of the first half, guests were leading by nine (29 – 38).
When the game seemed to be decided eight consecutive points for the Russians in the last quarter (74 – 80, 38′) gave hope to the local supporters. Juventus scored a single free throw in the last the three minutes of the game and couldn’t escape with the victory. LaRon Dendy’s effort wasn’t enough even though he finished with 25 points and 5 steals.
The key: Enisey was 21 points behind with 6 minutes remaining. A 19 – 1 run in the last three minutes was decisive.
The star: Vitali Liutych led the winners in scoring with 18 but Anthony Hilliard’s three-pointer (17 points) gave them the first lead since the second quarter.
