Banvit became the first team to beat medi Bayreuth in this year’s Basketball Champions League as they won the game at home 85-74.

Overcoming the German squad wasn’t easy though, as the visitors put up a great fight. After the first half teams were tied as the result was 38-38.

The third quarter was very similar to the first half as Banvit won that period with a minimal lead 19-18. It was the last quarter when the Bayreuth lost energy and couldn’t keep up with Turks.

The Key: Banvit stepped up their game when it mattered as they won the last quarter by 10 (28-18).

The Star: Adonis Thomas had an outstanding performance tonight, especially down the stretch. He scored 12 of his 23 points in the fourth period leading his team to an important victory.

De’Mon Brooks with 26 points plus seven rebounds and Gabe York with 19 points tried to keep Bayreuth undefeated but it wasn’t enough.

Both teams now have a 3-1 record after four weeks of action.
