MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg got the road win in Latvia after defeating Ventspils with 73 – 61. After their first defeat at home, the hosts fall to a 2-2 record while the Germans got their third victory in the competition.
Ludwigsburg turned the tables from the first quarter and after 20 minutes they were ahead by seven points (40 – 33). Ventspils never had the lead in the game but they didn’t give up as they tried to remain undefeated at home.
The key: Ludwigsburg handled a double-digit lead with two minutes reaming that allowed them a comfortable finish. Key offensive rebounds were decisive in those last moments.
The star: Kerron Johnson led all scorers with 16 points while Thomas Walkup flirted with a triple-double (8 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists).
Armands Skele had 14 points for the hosts.
