Despite the great start of the game by the hosts, it was the visiting team who won the game in Ljubljana between Petrol Olimpija and Umana Reyer Venezia 76-66. Olimpija had 9 points lead after the first quarter 22-13. However, since that Venezia was the better team winning the other three quarters.
The turning point: The Italians used the halftime break to come back stronger, as they made a 15-4 run in the third quarter, overtaking the lead.
The Key: It was the Venezia’s bench that made the difference tonight. They outscored Olimpija’s by 55-24.
The Star: Gediminas Orelik hit 4 three-pointers and scored 17 points for the winners. Michael Bramos had an all-around game for the Venezia with 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists.
A double-double game with 20 points and 13 rebounds by Jordan Morgan was not enough for Olimpija.
Venezia moved up to a 4-1 record and Olimpija slid to a 1-4.
