It wasn’t easy at all but Hapoel got the home win against Enisey in a fun-to-watch game with 90 – 77. This victory means the first triumph in Basketball Champions League for the Israeli team while the squad from Krasnoyarsk is now 2-3.
After a slow start, both teams performed impressively in an entertaining second quarter. The Russians were in front 38 – 42 at the break, despite Glen Rice’s 20 points in the first half.
A high scoring third quarter finished with neither of the teams achieving large leads. At the end, Hapoel Holon was more solid and got the win.
The key: Enisey had 23 turnovers while the game was close, while the guests dominated the offensive rebounds and turned them into score.
The star: Glen Rice Jr. was the man. He finished with an impressive double-double (28 points and 10 rebounds) to give Hapoel Holon its very first victory. Joe Alexander added 18 for the hosts.
