Banvit got the home win in a close game in Basketball Champions League Week 6 despite a stellar performance by Sylven Landesberg

The Turkish team got an important win as they managed to beat Movistar Estudiantes 82 – 80 at home. Banvit improved to a 4-2 record while the Spaniards are now 3-3 in Group A.

The season-high in scoring for Sylven Landesberg wasn’t enough as he dropped 31 points for the guests.

The visitors started the game really strong (25–11, 6′) paced by Landesberg’s 14 first-quarter points. Banvit reacted with a spectacular 16-0 run in the second period to recover the lead (30 – 27, 14′).

Andy Rautins three-point festival in the third quarter increased Banvit’s advantage and they kept it the rest of the game.

The key:  The hosts’ early reaction in the second quarter after trailing by 14 was decisive, as they managed to win the period 32-14.

The star: Andy Rautins was averaging 3,7 points in Basketball Champions League. The Canadian nocked 6 three-pointers to lead Banvit in scoring with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Adonis Thomas added 17 and 8 for the winners.
