It took six weeks for Capo d’Orlando but they finally recorded their first win in the Basketball Champions League. The Italians prevailed over Ventspils on the road (66-55). It was a triumph of team-effort and great defense by the visitors.
After a close first half, Capo Orlando stepped up their game and dominated in the second. The Italians held Ventspils to a season-low 55 points
The Key: The visiting squad came into the second half fired up as they had an 11-0 run (47-35) in the begging of the third quarter. They won that period with an impressive 16 points difference (20-4).
The Star: Jakub Wojciechowski and Justin Edwards both scored 11 points leading the Capo d’Orlando to the first triumph. Wojciechowski also added 7 rebounds.
Not Enough: Aigars Skele almost had a double-double as he finished the game with 14 points and 9 rebounds for the losing side.
After the first win, Capo d’Orlando moved to a 1-5 record and Ventspils now has a 3-3.
