Umana Venezia edged medi Bayreuth at home thanks to the big shot of Gediminas Orelik (70-67). The Lithuanian sealed the deal for Italians. The game was tied at 67-all with 3 seconds left, but that was enough time for Orelik who made a three-pointer.
Nobody expected that end when Venezia started the game with an 11-0 run and built a comfortable lead after the first half (41-30). The visitors bounced back in the second half as they tied the game down the last stretch (67-67) but could not prevent their third straight defeat in Group C.
The Key: No doubt that the crucial moment of the game was the last seconds as Orelik won the game for Venezia at the buzzer.
The Star: Who else than Orelik? The Lithuanian had 12 points, the same as his teammate Paul Biligha.
Not enough: Robin Amaize had a game-high for Bayreuth with 22 points, but sadly for the visitors, it was not enough.
Venezia moved to top as they have a 5-1 record and Bayreuth fell to a 3-3.
