SIG Strasbourg prevailed over Banvit with 87 – 72. The Turkish squad fell to a 4-3 record in Group C while the hosts moved up to 5-2 to put pressure on Venezia.
A solid first half was played by the French team that reached its biggest lead at the break with 42 – 32. Strasbourg ran the floor and Banvit just couldn’t stop them.
Gasper Vidmar was trying to turn it a competitive game again as he led Banvit with a double-double (18 points and 10 boards) but the hosts increased the advantage in the fourth quarter. At the end, Strasbourg enjoyed a comfortable victory.
The key: The hosts scored an impressive 56% from three-point territory while Banvit struggled (just 7/24).
The star: Darion Atkins made 10-of-12 from the field to lead all scorers with 23 points. Mike Dixon dropped 14 points and Miro Bilan completed a great second half to finish with 12 points and 5 rebounds.
