Iberostar Tenerife recorded their sixth straight win this season after defeating Neptunas Klaipeda 90 – 67 in The Canaries. The reigning champions broke the tie at the top of Group B and remain with just one defeat.
Fotis Katsikaris remains undefeated in his return to Spain as head coach.
The hosts outscored Neptunas in the second quarter 30 – 16. Tenerife slowed down Arnas Butkevicius (11 points in the first quarter) and reached a 10-point-lead at the half (48 – 38).
The key: Tenerife definitely took charge of the game with a 15 – 3 run starting the third period and with a 14 – 2 in the fourth.
The star: Tim Abromaitis led all scorers with 21 points and Nico Richotti also contributed 8 points, 9 assists, 4 rebounds and 3 steals.
Butkevicius’ 18 points for Neptunas weren’t enough to keep the team alive in the game.
