Movistar Estudiantes got a great win in Madrid by defeating Umana Reyer Venezia 81 – 80 at the buzzer. The home team moved up to a 4-3 record while the Italians slid to 5-2.
The key: Dario Brizuela dropped a great three-pointer to tie the game but Dominique Johnson put Venezia ahead with 4 seconds left. It was worthless as Sylven Landesberg made a clutch shot beating the buzzer. The forward finished with 11 points on 4/12 shooting.

It was a highly competitive matchup from the first half which ended with Venezia leading by seven (33 – 40) thanks to Hrvoje Peric and Mitchell Watt. Both players combined for 22 points at the end of the second quarter. At the end, Watt led Venezia in scoring with 16 points.
The third quarter was the turning point for Estudiantes and they even took the lead beginning the fourth (59 – 58, 32′). At the end, the hosts got the win.
The star: Alec Brown had 21 for the winners and also grabbed 5 rebounds.
