Medi Bayreuth ended its three games losing streak beating AEK at home 80-73 with Gabe York being the star.
The home squad made an early statement as they caught fire in the first quarter winning that period 25-11.
The Greeks didn’t get scared by that. They were able to tie the game in the middle of the third quarter as result was a tie at 50.
They stayed close down the stretch, but they went cold in crucial moments and suffered another defeat.
The last minute: Manny Harris made a layup to cut the lead to just 2 points (75-73), but Nate Linhart replied with a three-pointer making life easier for the hosts. AEK wasn’t able to score after that as James Robinson hit two free throws and sealed the deal for Bayreuth making the final result 80-73.
The Star: Gabe York had a huge game for the hosts, scoring 20 points in the first half ending the game with 22 points.
Manny Harris and Dusan Sakota tried to save AEK, but they ultimately they couldn’t. Harris finished the game with 22 points and Sakota had 19 points and 8 boards.
With this win, Bayreuth moved up to a 4-3 record leaving AEK on a 3-4.
