After Day 7 of the Basketball Champions League AS Monaco remained undefeated since they beat Pinar Karsiyaka at home 79-65 thanks to Elmedin Kikanovic’s 23 points.
The visiting squad came to France without one of their best players D.J Kennedy. Even without him, Karsiyaka was able to push Monaco real hard in the first half and even lead 41 – 39 at halftime.
The Key: Once again the defense was the main reason for Monaco’s win. Zvezdan Mitrovic’s team allowed only 4 points in transition to their opponents. Preventing Karsiyaka from making easy buckets, allowed them to score 26 points in the second half.
The Star: Elmedin Kikanovic was the main force for the hosts as Bosnian center finished the game with 23 points. His teammate Amara Sy came one rebound away from the double-double, finishing with 11 points and 9 rebounds.
Dominic Waters had 21 points for the visitors, but that was not enough.
After 7 weeks of action, Monaco stands on a 7-0 record and Karsiyaka slipped to a 5-2.
