After winning Maccabi Tel Aviv on the road, Hapoel Holon couldn’t continue its victorious streak and UCAM Murcia escaped with the victory 81 – 75 from Israel. The Spanish team improved to a 4-4 record while the Israelis fell to 2-6 in Group A.
The key: With the game tied in the last minute, Ovie Soko scored two important free throws to put Murcia in front. Sadiel Rojas signed the victory with a steal and a layup.
The hosts had a strong start but Murcia reacted well in the second quarter and tied the scoreboard at 37 at the half with Ovie Soko dominating both ends of the floor.
With one quarter left, the guests were leading by 3 (60 – 57) and the game reamined tight until the end. Finally, Murcia got the win.
The star: Soko finished with a double-double after scoring 21 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and also had 6 assists. Brad Oleson contributed with 13 points.
Glen Rice Jr. led Hapoel Holon with 18 points and 8 rebounds until he was fouled out.
