Estudiantes got payback in the “vendetta” against Strasbourg in style.

Movistar Estudiantes got a huge victory in the Basketball Champions League as they beat SIG Strasbourg 81 – 65 in Madrid. The Spaniards jumped to a 6-4 record while the French team is now behind in Group C with 5-5.

The key: Strasbourg collapsed in the first half while Estudiantes scored 14-of-17 from two-point territory. At the break, the hosts were leading 51 – 30. Spanish international Edgar Vicedo scored 11 points without a miss in just 8 minutes on the court.

Vincent Collet’s men slowed down the game in the third period but they couldn’t reduce the deficit. Louis Labeyrie led Strasbourg’s late reaction in the last quarter (15 – 22). The Frenchman finished with 13 points and 6 rebounds and David Logan added 14.

The star: Omar Cook paced the Spanish team with 12 assists. Sylven Landesberg and Alec Brown scored 14 points each.
