On Gameday 10, there was no shortage of big plays and big-time players. Here are the five that have made the Team of the Week.
Clevin Hannah, Guard
Don’t tell Hannah that basketball is a big man’s game. The 1.79 (5ft 10in) guard scored, dished, rebounded and defended and helped UCAM Murcia win a vital game at Dinamo Sassari, 94-88. Hannah finished with 21 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds, 3 steals and a +27 effiency as the Spanish side not only gained a Regular Season split with the Sardinian outfit, but earned a +1 advantage in a potential tie-breaker. Murcia remained fourth in Group A while improving to 6-4, the same record as third-place Pinar Karsiyaka. Both teams are now two games clear of fifth-place Sassari. A top four finish is needed to reach the next phase of the competition.
Dardan Berisha, Guard
Remember the guy that put on dazzling displays for Kosovo in 2018, helping the country make it through the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Pre-Qualifiers? That man was Dardan Berisha, and he played like a buzzsaw again only this time for CEZ Nymburk on Gameday 10, tearing Telekom Baskets Bonn apart with a 24-point, 6-assist, 5-rebound and 1-steal performance. The Czech outfit won the game, 106-98, to improve to 7-3 and move to within touching distance of a spot in the Round of 16.
Andy Rautins, Guard
Someone call the fire department but one play is on fire! Rautins was the ultimate gunslinger on Wednesday night in Bandirma, Turkey, living up to his reputation as one of the best shooters in Europe by connecting on 7 of 8 attempts from deep to lead Banvit to a 78-71 triumph over AEK. Rautins finished with a game-high 23 points and a sparkling +24 efficiency rating as Banvit moved a game clear of the chasing pack in Group C with a 7-3 record.
Christopher Evans, Forward
Batten down the hatches, folks, when Evans on the floor. The AS Monaco high-flier has been a dunking extraordinaire all season, posterizing opponents all over Europe. On Wednesday in Russia, Evans had the best dunk in a game that was full of slams as Monaco won at Enisey Krasnoyarsk to stay unbeaten at 10-0. With Gerald Robinson throwing the ball off the glass, Evans soared in and snatched it out of the air before finishing with a two-handed reverse. If there were any judges in the crowd, they would have all put up cards showing the number 10! Evans had 19 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 1 block and a +23 efficiency.
Mitchell Watt, Center
The Umana Reyer Venezea big man flat out dominated for the Italian club on Tuesday as it beat Rosa Radom, 102-93. The 28-year-old not only poured in 25 points and corralled 13 rebounds but also had his own little block party. Watt swatted five shots on the night as Umana Reyer improved to 6-4 in Group C.
