Iberostar Tenerife defeated Sikeliarchivi Capo d’Orlando 106 – 59 after an easy game. The champs improved to a 9-2 record with the win in Italy while Orlandina has the exact opposite record.
It was a great team effort by Tenerife with six players scoring in double digits: Kostas Vasileiadis (16 points), Devin White (14), Fran Vazquez (12), Tim Abromaitis (12), Javi Beiran (11) and Rosco Allen (11).
Once again the guests smashed their rivals in the first half. Tenerife had an impressive first quarter (21 – 9) but they made the difference bigger in the second (50 – 25 at the half).
The hosts cut the lead to four at the start of the second half, but a 12-0 run for Fotis Katsikaris’ men ended the game. The defending champions made a new charge and got an easy win.
The key: Capo d’Orlando committed 19 turnovers that allowed 28 fast-break points. NBA prospect Arnoldas Kulboka led Orlandina in scoring with 19 points but his effort was worthless.
