Stelmet Zielona Gora tied Oostende in the standings after winning at home 98 – 68. The Polish champions were the kings after the first quarter and improved to 5-7, the same record that the Belgians and Avellino have.
The star: Vladimir Dragicevic paced the winners with a magnificent double-double. The Montenegrin finished with 24 points and 12 boards (37 PIR). Jaroslaw Mokros added 16 points.
Jean-Marc Mwema led Oostende in scoring with 13.
After a close first quarter (14 – 17), the hosts outscored Oostende and reached a 47 – 38 lead at the break. Zielona started the second half with a 9-0 run that made it a double-digit game.
The key: The hosts dominated the boards (39 – 23) and also the paints in the point (36 – 18). Dragicevic was unstoppable and they continue increasing the lead until the end. The Polish team won the last quarter by 16 points (33 – 17).
