Besiktas leads Group D after defeating Aris 72 – 65 in Thessaloniki. The Turks won their ninth game of the season while the home team stands at a 4-8 record, one victory away from the playoff zone.

The key: Aris failed to score in the first four minutes of overtime and Besiktas decided the game with a 9 – 0 run.

It was a low-scoring first half which ended with Aris leading by one (28 – 29). Nothing changed in the third quarter but the Greeks were trailing by 4 at the end of the period (46 – 43).

Lefteris Bochoridis received a foul with 10 seconds left (59 – 58) but he converted just the second free throw. However, Josh Adams committed an offensive foul and Aris had the chance to win it. The hosts lost the ball and extra five minutes were played in the Nikos Gallis Hall.

The star: DJ Strawberry had 15 points and 4 assists for the winners. Earl Clark contributed with 13 points and 8 boards.

Aris was close to the miracle with Gary Bell leading the team. The playmaker finished with 18 points.
