Pinar Karsiyaka reclaimed the second spot in Group A after prevailing over Enisey 81 – 74 in Krasnoyarsk. The Turkish team improved to a 9-4 record while their opponents will fight with Hapoel Holon and Juventus for a spot that leads to the FIBA Europe Cup.
The key: Dominic Waters scored four consecutive free-throws and gave Karsiyaka a 76 – 72 lead. Martins Meiers reduced the deficit from the stripe but DJ Kennedy sealed the deal with a clutch triple.
Enisey was leading 42 – 39 at the half but the guests started powerfully the third quarter. The hosts held their ground for a bit despite their opponents’ quick 2-10 run but it was temporal.
The star: DJ “MVP” Kennedy paced Karsiyaka once again with 17 points, 7 boards, 3 assists and 3 steals. Waters led all scorers with 18 points and also had 9 assists.
Vitali Liutych finished with 15 points while Anthony Hilliard added 14 points, 9 boards, and 5 assists.
