SIG Strasbourg was trailing by five after the first game against Neptunas Klaipeda but managed to take it into overtime and win 88-78. With a total of five points lead, the French team advanced to quarterfinals of Basketball Champions League.

The deciding moment was David Logan’s three-pointer to put Strasbourg ahead 3 points with less than a minute left in overtime. That shot was followed by two great steals, easy four points and it was all over.

It was a 13 point difference for Neptunas at halftime (43-30), a total of 19 in aggregate score. Strasbourg just couldn’t hit from behind the arc while also being powerless below the basket. Neptunas played good defense not allowing easy points while offensively focusing on their gamesome big man Edgaras Zelionis in the paint. He scored 17points and added 6 rebounds in the first half.

But the rhythm changed in the second part of the game. Strasbourg took the initiative and the difference began to melt. With two minutes left they mad it to a tie in this game (at 70), but were still down six in total.

With 30 seconds left in the game, Strasbourg led 75-70, had a tie in total score (143-143) and a chance to go ahead but they couldn’t find an opening. The guests also managed to shoot but Renaldas Seibutis’ shot fell short.
