Ucam Murcia coach Ibon Navarro expects a raving support by the team’s fans in the second-leg game of the Basketball Champions League Quarterfinals series against Pinar Karsiyaka.
The Spanish side gained a huge advantage by winning 79 – 65 in Izmir in a quite heated and tense game. Navarro hopes that Murcia fans will create an atmosphere that will be a… ‘little bit Turkish’ and not reminiscent of a… theater audience.
“I wish people in Murcia have seen what we have had here today. They have been cheering for an hour before, putting a lot of pressure on the opposing team and the referees. For us, it would be amazing to play a Final Four, so it’s worth going to the gym next week. We don’t have to go to the theater, we should be ‘little bit Turkish’ because the team deserves it,” Navarro said for the club’s website.
Murcia faces Pinar Karsiyaka next Wednesday at home and needs to not lose by more than 14 points in order to qualify in the Final Four.
