UCAM Murcia defeated MHP Riesen 85 – 74 in the third-place game. After the contest, coach Ibon Navarro said the following about Murcia’s game and the season.
“I want to congratulate Riesen for their great season. Congratulations to my players for their season, the effort they made tonight and throughout the season. It was not an easy game to play. I’m proud of my players, the character they showed today on the court. The character they showed it’s what made us win.
Sadiel Rojas who is one of the leaders of this team also commented on Murcia’s accomplishment: “I’m excited to be here, for our team to be here in this Final Four. I’m excited for my teammates that fought for this third-place game. I’m very proud of my teammates and coach; no one expected us to be here. My character is strong. It’s a character that you can hate or love. A lot of my teammates love me, and a lot of them hate me. I told them we got to play this game today. We all decided together that we have to go out there and play.”
