Amare Stoudemire and Hapoel Jerusalem have reached an agreement regarding the player’s return to the team, according to Israeli website Sport 5.
The only thing left for the deal to be completely finalized is for the Israeli club to determine how the staff and roster of the squad will be compiled ahead of the upcoming season.
Per the report of Sports 5, Hapoel will look to build a core of young, hungry players around veteran Stoudemire, as a part of a new strategy the club has decided to implement.
Stoudemire has been a major shareholder of Hapoel since 2013. In his previous stint with the team in 2016-2017, the six-time NBA All-Star averaged 9.9 points, 5.9 rebounds plus 1.3 blocks in 22.8 minutes per game in the Israeli Winner League, helping his squad win the title.
In Eurocup, Stoudemire posted 12.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks during average of 25.5 minutes in 19 games, as Hapoel reach the semifinals. He was named in the All-EuroCup Second Team.
In 2018-2019 Hapoel Jerusalem will compete in the Basketball Champions League, apart from the Israeli League.
