PAOK Thessaloniki announced the transfer of Greek 29-year-old swingman Stavros Shizas on a two-year deal. The player is set to make his Basketball Champions League debut next season with his new team.
Shizas , a Rochester College graduate, spent the previous season in Kolossos Rhodes, averaging 7.1 points and 2.9 rebounds over 20 minutes per game in the Greek League. Throughout his career, Shizas also played for Rethymno and Kymi, also in Greece.
PAOK and Shizas will compete in Group B of the BCL. The Greek club will face 2017 BCL champion Iberostar Tenerife, Israeli League finalist Hapoel Holon, Italian side Reyer Venezia, Opava from the Czech Republic, German team Telekom Baskets Bonn plus two teams from the qualification stages.
