After two months of negotiations, Ufuk Sarica and Besiktas finally agreed on the terms of their “divorce’. Coach Sarica had a contract for next season with the club, but both sides wanted to turn the page and part ways.
Sarica’s compensation was the main topic of discussion and the club is expected to officially announce soon that he will no longer sit on the bench of the team.
Burak Biyiktay, Hakan Demir and Serkan Erdogan are the main candidates to replace Sarica, who led Besiktas in the BSL finals during the 2016-17 season, but couldn’t produce similar results last year both in the BSL and in the Basketball Champions League.
