In Belgium, Spirou Charleroi beat Hapoel Tel Aviv 73 – 59 behind 20 points and four rebounds by Matt Mobley and advanced to the next stage in a game that was disrupted for almost half an hour following some tension in the arena.
Per Sudinfo.be, when Charleroi got a 10-point lead 62 – 52, Hapoel fans that were present in the arena, started throwing chairs at the supporters of the local team and the stewards of the gym. The police used pepper spray to hold them off and the atmosphere became too difficult for any basketball to be played.
