Ten teams clashed for the second time in the Basketball Champions League Qualification Round 3 and five of them clinched a spot in the regular season.
The spots in Group A belonged to UCAM Murcia and Nizhny Novgorod. The Spanish team lost to Spirou Charleroi 82-78 but qualified thanks to the nine-point advantage from Game 1 (71-62). The total aggregate score was 149-144.
Milton Doyle scored game-high 19 points for Murcia in addition to Ovie Soko’s 18. For Charleroi, Matt Mobley led the effort with 14 points.
Novgorod routed Paradubice 85-57 on the road mostly thanks to Artem Komolov’s 14 and Kendrick Perry’s 13 points. On the other side, Dwayne Benjamin who scored 17 points in addition to six rebounds.
Fribourg joined Group B after a convincing against Sakarya with a 76-52 win. Natan Jurkovitz led the victors with 18 points while Justin Roberson added 15. For Sakarya, Toney Douglas scored 16 points.
Nanterre 93 also joined Group B after a huge 91-58 win against Karhu Basket. Yannis Morin put in game-high 18 points while Armand Mensah helped with 17. On the other side, Kazembe Abif scored 17 points.
Although medi Bayreuth and Polski Cukier Torun played to a draw in Game 1, the spot in Group D belonged to the German side after an 86-73 win.
Andreas Seiferth scored 14 points for the winners while Adonis Thomas and Gregor Hrovat added 13 each. The Polish side was led by Rob Lowery who banked game-high 19 points.
