Norris Cole finished the night with 34 points on 12/26 shots for Avellino, as the Italians beat Nizhny Novgorod 100-93 after a double-overtime in their first game for Group A of the Basketball Champions League.
Despite a 57-52 lead for Avellino at the start of the fourth quarter, Nizhny Novgorod thanks to a partial 15-7 score entered the last four minutes having a three-point advantage (67-64)
The Russian side got a six points lead (75-69), Avellino cut it to three again (75-72) thanks to a goal-foul by Demetris Nichols and Cole send the game to overtime with a big three.
Kendrick Perry who scored in total 25 points send the game in the second overtime, with an even bigger three at the buzzer (90-90). However, the hosts scored just three points after the 45th minute of the game. Caleb Green added 19 points for the winners and Nichols had 14.
