Despite a very bad first quarter, Banvit managed to come back and prevail against MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg recording an 89-76 home win in Group A of the Basketball Champions League.
If one was to judge by the first ten minutes, he would expect an easy win for the guests as they led 30-8 but Banvit didn’t want to go down without a fight. They answered by winning the second quarter 30-9 and were at a minimal disadvantage at halftime (39-38).
Banvit kept the momentum after the break completely controlling the game. They went ahead by a seven-point margin (68-61) in front of the last quarter and kept increasing the lead eventually recording a fairly convincing win.
Jordan Morgan carried Banvit with game-high 27 points while Alex Perez helped with 14. For the Germans who reached the Basketball Champions League Final Four last season, Kelan Martin scored 17 points.
