Virtus Bologna used the extra five-minute period and prevailed over tough Neptunas Klaipeda 83-78 in Group D of Basketball Champions League.
Despite having the upper hand in the final period, Virtus had to go through overtime to seal the victory as Neptunas evened the score to 69 points with 2 seconds to go in the game.
Kevin Punter played a key role for the hosts and finished the game with a stunning 27-point performance, that was complemented by four rebounds and two assists.
Jerai Grant (21 p., 12 r.) was all over the floor for the Lithuanian team, though eventually, his presence wasn’t enough to hand Neptunas the victory.
