Despite being behind in the first half, Brose Bamberg came back and prevailed against JDA Dijon in the end with a 73-64 home win. Both teams now stand at a 1-1 record in Group C of Basketball Champions League.
Tyrese Rice led the winning side with 20 points while Nikos Zizis helped with 14. For Dijon, Gavin Ware ‘banked’ game-high 21 points but it wasn’t enough.
The match started off with tough defense on both sides as Dijon had the upper hand after the first ten minutes (14-3). They increased the advantage to a 14-point margin (20-6) but Brose finally woke up. They closed the gap quickly and were down by just two points at halftime (30-28).
The game stayed fairly balanced but the German side had a slight upper hand (65-61) with three minutes left. From that points onward, Bamberg scored eight straight points to go ahead (73-61) and secure the game.
