Dominic Waters missed the chance to win the game, Vangelis Margaritis got the rebound, he was fouled and with one made free throw gave to PAOK the 83-82 win in Group B of the Basketball Champions League.
Zaras with 18 points was the top scorer of the hosts, while Linos Chrysikopoulos scored 15 points.
PAOK got a 41-35 halftime lead with Yanick Moreira scoring 12 points in 11 minutes of action. Adas Juskevicius finished the first two quarters with 16 points, keeping Nanterre alive and ended the game with 19.
The French side started the second half with a 17-8 run and got a three-point advantage (52-49), setting the stage for the final showdown. Nanterre was leading by a point (54-53) at the end of the third period and the end was thrilling. Both teams now share a 1-3 record.
