Anwil quickly recovered from the first-quarter deficit and recorded a 93-85 road win against MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg on Day 4 of Basketball Champions League.
Chase Simon scored 26 points for Anwil while shooting 6/7 from the field and Michal Michalak helped with 16 points plus seven rebounds. On the other side, Malcolm hill had a great 31-point performance but it wasn’t enough.
Although Ludwigsburg created a double-digit lead (18-6) six minutes into the game, Anwil didn’t allow them to increase the gap eventually going on the halftime break with a three-point deficit (47-44).
The game stayed balanced until late fourth quarter. In fact, it was a tie at 85 with a minute remaining but that was when everything fell apart for the German side as they couldn’t score at all while Anwil banked eight points on their way to victory.
Anwil has a 2-2 record in Group A while Ludwigsburg lost last seven games in all competitions, four of those in BCL (0-4).
