Murcia stayed unharmed in Basketball Champions League… at the expense of Avellino’s perfect record.

Murcia extended its Basketball Champions League Group A winning streak to 4-0 by beating the previously undefeated Avellino 72 – 69 at home. And the Spanish team did so by keeping Avellino was scoreless in the last 2:12 minutes of the game.

Following a bucket by Ariel Filloy for the 67 – 69, Askia Booker put Murcia up with a triple. Both teams struggled to connect to the basket, especially Norris Cole who was “handcuffed” by Murcia (7 points, 2/12 shots) following his near-triple-double night last week. Booker made 2/2 from the line in the final seconds to seal the win for his team.

Defending against Cole was key for Murcia that also had Milton Doyle putting up an all-around output (14 points, five assists, four rebounds, three steals). Ovie Soko added 14 points and six rebounds and Booker also scored 14.

Ariel Filloy led Avellino with 17 points.
