Banvit completely dominated the second half on their way to record a 78-60 home win against Nizhny Novgorod on Day 4 of Basketball Champions League.
Sehmus Hazer led the victors with 17 points in addition to Alex Perez’s 15. For Nizhny, Ivan Strebkov scored 12 while Sergey Toropov added 11 points.
Although Banvit opened the game with a 10-2 run, Nizhny came back and the first quarter ended with a tie at 16. Both squads put on strong defense but the Russian side had a slight upper hand eventually going on the halftime rest with a 31-29 lead.
However, the second half was all Banvit. The hosts created their first double-digit lead (51-41) in the third quarter and came on even stronger in the fourth leading by as much as 23 points (72-49) which left no doubt about the winner.
Banvit improved to 3-1 while Nizhny holds a 1-3 record in Group A.
