Tyrese Rice and Elias Harris showed up in crunch time leading Brose Bamberg to an 82-77 home win against Lietkabelis on Day 4 of Basketball Champions League.
It was a tie at 76 with 50 seconds remaining in the game when Rice made the crucial layup to put Bamberg ahead. Lietkabelis had their chance in the following offense but Harris stole the ball bringing the game to the free throw finish in which the German side came out on top.
Rice scored game-high 23 points for the victors while adding six assists. Augustine Rubit helped with 19 in addition to Stevan Jelovac’s 13 points. For Lietkabelis, Jamar Wilson scored 15 and Saulius Kulvietis 14 points.
The first quarter was a tie at 18 while Bamberg had a minimal lead at halftime (43-42). Lietkabelis had a slight upper hand most of the second half but couldn’t capitalize on it as Bamberg managed to prevail in the final minutes.
Bamberg improved to 2-2 while Lietkabelis stands at a 1-3 record in Group C.
