Gregor Hrovat returned to Slovenia and helped his new team, Bayreuth, beat his former, Olimpija. The visitors got a 76-67 win in the Round 6 Group D of the Basketball Champions League.
The 24-year-old guard/forward’s points in the final minutes got the Germans to their largest lead of the game. He had 12 points and 15 efficiency, also dished a highlight-level assist.
De’Mon Brooks helped Bayreuth cause with 13 points, while Adonis Thomas added 12. Miha Lapornik sank 17 for the Slovenians, Mirza Begic and Scottie Reynolds had 14 each.
Bayreuth second straight BCL victory lifted the team to 2-4. The home team fell to 2-4 with its tough home loss.
