Despite Le Mans’ strong 15-3 start, Avellino got a 77-74 away win against Wednesday night. The visitors looked ready to run away with the “W” during the third quarter of the Day 6 Group A Basketball Champions League game. A 15-2 spurt created a double-digit lead for the visitors. However, Eric Bartecheky’s team refused to give up until the final seconds.

Norris Cole sank two clutch free throws to lock up the “W” and get to 22 points. Ariel Filloy and Caleb Green added 14 points each, while Demetris Nichols scored a 13-points, 10-rebound double-double. Michael Thompson drained 20 points, but wasn’t enough for Le Mans.

Nenad Vucinic’s team away win got the Italians to 5-1. The home team suffered a second straight defeat and dropped to 2-4.
