Besiktas Sompo Japan managed to stop Filou Oostende’s fourth-quarter comeback and record a 73-66 road win on Day 6 of Basketball Champions League.
Ivan Buva led Besiktas with 19 points in addition to Jason Rich’s 16. On the other side, Nemanja Djurisic scored 19 points along with eight rebounds while Marin Maric added 17 points.
After a fairly balanced first half in which Oostende had a small upper hand (40-37), Besiktas completely took over. They dominated the third quarter (24-9) going ahead 61-49 but the hosts didn’t quit. They responded in the final period closing the gap to as much as two points (68-66) but the Turks didn’t allow them to go any further pulling away and securing the win.
Besiktas improved to 2-4 in Group D while Oostende stayed at one win (1-5).
