Anwil never lost the lead after the first minutes of the first quarter on its way to the 76-64 win over Le Mans in the Basketball Champions League Group A Day 7 game played at Wloclawek’s Hala Mistrzow. Igor Milicic’s team built a double-digit lead in the second half and comfortably went through the last period.
Chase Simon scored 11 points in the first half and 16 in total, while Szymon Szewczyk posted 11 in only nine minutes and Josip Sobin added 10. Petr Cornelie got 17 points, Valentin Bigote 14 and Wilfried Yeguete scored 12 for the visitors.
The Polish champs finished the first round of BCL’s group stage sitting at 3-4, while the French champs dropped to 2-5 with their third straight defeat.
