Sidigas Avellino was ahead most of the game and managed to ward off MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg until the end for an 82-76 home win on Day 9 of Basketball Champions League. Avellino improved to 6-3 while Ludwigsburg stands at 2-7 in Group A.
Caleb Green scored 18 points for Avellino in addition to Norris Cole’s 15 points, nine rebounds and six assists. On the other side, Jordon Crawford nailed game-high 27 points while Kelan Martin added 14 points and eight boards.
Avellino was ahead 22-11 early and went on the halftime rest with a 43-28 lead. They kept some distance after the break (64-56) and although Ludwigsburg tied the game at 76 near the end, the Italians scored the last six points of the match and secured the win.
