Jason Rich banked game-high 28 points and led Besiktas Sompo Japan to a 69-64 road win against SIG Strasbourg on Day 10 of Basketball Champions League.
Rich shot 7/11 inside the arc and 3/5 from deep while adding four rebounds and two assists. Ivan Buva helped with 12 points and five rebounds.
For Strasbourg, Ali Traore scored 14 points along with eight rebounds while Nicolas Lang helped with 11 points.
The game was balanced from start to finish as neither side could create a significant advantage or keep it for long. Strasbourg was ahead 21-20 after ten minutes and 36-32 at halftime but Besiktas had an upper hand after the break (52-51). The game could go either way until the very end but Besiktas’s 10-4 run in the final period which put them ahead 68-62 was crucial in Turkish team’s victory.
Besiktas improved to 5-5 while Strasbourg stands at a 6-4 record in Group D.
