Oostende came out on top and grabbed a 79-77 road win over Neptunas after a thrilling finish on Day 10 of Basketball Champions League.
Although Lorenzo Williams made a layup and put Neptunas ahead 77-76 with six seconds remaining, Oostende’s Chase Fieler drew a foul from Kyle Weaver and has done so from behind the arc. Fieler was awarded three free throws and he made all of them handing his squad the win.
Elias Lasisi and TJ Williams scored 14 points each while Fieler followed with 13 points. For Neptunas, Jerai Grant scored 15 points while Osvaldas Olisevicius and Weaver helped with 12 each.
Oostende started off better with a 21-12 early lead but it ended up being a tie at halftime (39-39). It was a fairly balanced game after the break and although Oostende had an upper hand most of the time, Neptunas stayed close and brought the game to an interesting finish.
Oostende improved to 5-5 while Neptunas holds a 4-6 record in Group D.
