Petrol Olimpija held the lead most of the game but Filou Oostende stayed close and thanks to Chase Fieler’s game-winning layup got away with a narrow 71-69 win on Day 11 of Basketball Champions League. This is the second game in a row Fieler grants his squad the win in final seconds (did it against in the previous game against Neptunas).
TJ Williams led Oostende’s winning charge with 18 points (7-10 from the field) while Marin Maric added 13 and Loic Schwartz 11 points.
For Olimpija, 19-year-old Luka Samanic put on an 18-point performance (also made both free throws to tie the game at 69) followed by Roko Badzim’s 15 points.
Oostende improved to 6-5 in Group D while Olimpija stayed at one win (1-10).
